Indoor environment

The Europeans spend much of their time indoors, especially in their work place. Therefore the indoor climate will affect our mood, well-being and performance.

The indoor climate on the work place is of great significance as it should not cause people to become ill or inhibit them in their work. A bad indoor climate has a negative effect on people's ability to concentrate and to work and thus can cause increases in sickness absence.

To determine the indoor climate, the following factors are important:

  • daylight and artificial lighting
  • the quality of the air
  • noice and acoustics
  • temperature and draught

A healthy indoor climate is determined by a combination of interior decoration, construction and maintenance of buildings and rooms.

The indoor climate should also be seen in connection with children and adults’ activities and needs in the room.
It is important to be aware that some people are more sensitive to influences than others.

For Vitral, the indoor climate is very important and we constantly work to improve our panel solutions and thereby also our roof glazing systems, so they are kept abreast of the legal requirements for indoor climate at all times.

The VRS panels have for example:

  • Automatic opening functions, so buildings are ventilated and thereby enhances the air quality
  • Narrow window bars that increases the amount of daylight in the buildings
  • A large opening area, so the ventilation in buildings improves
  • UV resistant materials which give a minimum effect of greenhouse and unnecessary heating of buildings
  • An aesthetic design which makes the buildings beautiful to look at, both from the inside and outside
